Some history from 1994, verbatim from a news release from
the University of Florida:

Mark Feather graduates today with honors from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He has maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average. A psychology major from Gainesville, Mark is a graduate of Gainesville High School. He earned his Associate of Arts at Seminole Community College in Sanford, Florida, where he graduated magna cum laude.

While at UF, Mark carried a challenging course load and worked on several research projects with UF psychology Professor Robert Ziller on the subjects of non-prejudice and universal orientation. He also worked with psychology Professor Brian Iwata at UF’s Center on Self Injury, where he assisted in clinical research on the assessment and treatment of behavior disorders. He is a member of both the Phi Kappa Phi and Golden Key national honor societies.

In addition to his academic achievements, Mark has worked as a legal clerk and abstractor for a law office in Trenton, Florida. He is a devout father to his 5-year-old son, Kyle, and is an active volunteer. He has logged several hundred hours at the Lancaster Correctional Institution in Trenton, where he counseled young adult inmates, and at Tacachale, a state institution for the developmentally disabled. For the past five years he has given motivational speeches regularly to groups of young people at churches and schools and has worked through an international service organization to aid people with addictions. For his volunteer efforts he has received several awards and certificates of appreciation.

Mark recently applied to several law schools, including UF, Harvard, Yale and Duke. He plans to earn his Juris Doctor and go into private practice as a trial attorney and mediator, and is considering going on to earn a Ph.D. Eventually, he hopes to pursue a career as a professor, judge or elected official.

Mark Jackson Feather is an exceptional attorney and trial lawyer. He began his legal career at the State Attorney’s Office of the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida. He left the State Attorney’s Office in 1998 and has now been in private practice for more than 10 years. Mr. Feather is a member of the Florida Bar, as well as, both the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida and Federal Courts. He specializes in representing persons who are injured in accidents and citizens charged with crimes. His office, Mark J. Feather, P.A., is located across the street from the Gilchrist County Courthouse in Trenton, Florida. Mr. Feather has represented citizens from Pensacola to Melbourne and from Tampa to Jacksonville. He, however, primarily represents residents of the tri-county area (Gilchrist, Levy and Dixie Counties).

Mr. Feather obtained both his Bachelor and Juris Doctorate degrees from the University of Florida. He graduated with a 4.0 grade point average, with an undergraduate degree in psychology. Mr. Feather was a bit of a “late bloomer.” He worked in the “real world” for nine years before returning to college. This experience gave a life perspective enjoyed by few practicing lawyers. Mr. Feather’s clients are not assigned to a junior or paralegal at his office. He personally represents each of his clients and works directly with them. Mr. Feather considers himself a very Blessed man with a thriving law practice and a wonderful family which includes his beautiful wife, Natalie, and their four wonderful children.
